Coffeehouse Cap

My husband decided to test my new found talent. He requested a new hat to wear since we are having such a chilly winter this year. I followed a pattern (first one ever) and it turned out really great - just really small....

This was the beginning of the first hat (my husband is wearing #3 in the picture). The pattern just turns out really small, my 3 year old could barely stretch it over his little noggin.

Anyway I decided to try and make it bigger - and amazingly I did!!! Don't ask me how, I am still marveling at it. And my husband, well he finally admitted he didn't think it would turn out at all.

Thankfully he loves me a lot so he is wearing it, haha.
You can get the pattern here - but you'll have to figure out how to make it bigger!!!
Good Luck

A Tea Cozy

This Tea Cozy is completely inspired by my sister and a cold cup of tea. I started noticing that my tea did not stay hot after my first cup had been finished. Then, around the same time, my sister started crocheting again. Now, several years ago I had started this hobby and finished a blanket (maybe 2, I can't remember) and thought I had put away my hooks for good.

After browsing the yarn aisles of many stores while M tried to find the perfect colors for her blanket, I started feeling the bug again.... and then the cold cup of tea.

Here is the pot in question. A wedding gift from some dear friends (Yes CH this is you). I love its smallish size as I am the only tea drinker in the house, but it definitely needed a cozy!!

I just youtubed tea cozies and came across a really easy video that got me started right away.

It only took me 2 nights to put the whole thing together. It is a little riddled with errors and my tension definitely changes throughout the squares, but once it is on the pot you can hardly tell (I think).

A nice and simple pattern and cozy. You can watch the youtube video here. There is 2 parts to this instructional video, so be sure to watch both!

Enjoy
